This is a song that has been colse to for about a hundred years or so. It was first recorded in 1933, and recorded again by some country and folk artists over the years until the definitive version of House Of The Rising Sun Was recorded in 1964 by English group Eric Burdon And The Animals. The song was recorded in one take while the group were on the road in England as a sustain for Chuck Berry, and the spine tingling intro to the song was played by guitarist Hilton Valentine on a Rickenbacker 330 guitar. Many citizen say that it was the first time a folk song was recorded by a rock group.

The guitar chords for the song are easy and you can learn the chord sequence in a few minutes, then spend a few years fooling colse to with arpeggios and strumming patterns and whatnot. So the chords are A minor, C major, D major, F major and E major. To get the feeling of the recording by The Animals just play each chord as an arpeggio like this A minor chord:

Okay, so here is a basic guide to how the chords for House Of The Rising Sun fit in with the lyrics.

Am C D F
There is a house in New Orleans
Am C E E
They call the Rising Sun
Am C D F
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
Am E Am
And God I know I'm one

Just Repeat The Chord Sequence For The Rest Of The Verses

My mom was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans

Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he's satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk

Oh mom tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun

Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain

Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one

If you hunt colse to the internet you will find some slightly distinct versions, but I would recommend you use what I have given you here as a basis for your own trademark rendition.

Then there are the Minor chords. Minor chords are also chords based on the major scale but instead of the general notes used on a chord, the 2nd note should be a half step lower, so if the C chord is made up of C,E, and G notes, the Cm chord will have a C D# and G note. Major and Minor chords are the coarse chords used in a chord progression.

Another thing you need to learn is the flats and sharps. Flats are chords lowered by half a step and sharps are the opposite or chords which are a half step higher. This tiny information is unmistakably needed in order to understand well how to read guitar music.

In order to read chords you need to know the chords abbreviations and what they would look like in a song sheet. A major chord like for example a C major can be written as C and a C major 7 (a C chord with an further 7th note) can be written as Cm7. For minor chords a C minor can be written as Cm. A flat can be symbolized by a small letter "b" and in E chord it can be written as Eb and Sharps are written using the universal symbol of "#" and in C chord it can be written as C#.

There are two types of song sheet or guitar music sheet, there's the tablature and the easy chord sheet. The tablatures are figures of music bars and each bar signifies as strings on guitar. The numbers on the tablature sheet shows which strings are to pressed and on what fret. While the chord sheet on the other hand are naturally the song with lyrics and the chords above them, the timing of chord changing is based on where it is positioned above the lyrics. The chord sheet is the type we often used and often found on basic song books.

Learning how to read guitar music is a tough process and needs a lot of dedication and hard work, But with the right materials and research, you'll get used to it and reading guitar music would be as easy as reading a text message shortcuts.
